The Mission of the
Holy Trinity Library Media Center
The mission of the Holy Trinity Library Media Center is to provide information and resources that will assist all members of the school community in their learning experiences. The Holy Trinity Library Media Center supports the guidelines set forth in Information Power by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats, and by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information while developing the necessary skills of the 21st Century.
In addition to over 20,000 books that are currently in the library collection, Holy Trinity is a member of the Nassau BOCES School Library System. This membership affords the community access to inter-library loans with over 100 schools in Nassau County.
The library media center offers the students use of 34 computer workstations as well as wireless laptops. All computers in the library have Internet access to enable the students to use any of the databases in our Online Collection.
Students are welcome to read the print copies of the New York Times and Newsday in the library daily.
Our collection of more than 1,000 curriculum related videos is available to all students. The video collection is searchable through the OPAC.
New this year:
The Holy Trinity Library Media Center has access to a helpful research management tool called NoodleTools.
NoodleTools helps the student prepare and organize information during the research process. The student can create a bibliography, annotations, and take notes for assignments and papers.
