Jesus and His Church

Using the Gospels as the focus of their reflections, students will study the person, message and meaning of Jesus as He lives on in the community of faith. Students will study historical background as well as the words and deeds, death and resurrection of Jesus. They will also examine the Acts of the Apostles and the letters of Paul as they reflect the early church and its challenges and mission. Special emphasis is placed on the meaning of Christ's words and deeds in the lives of the students today as well as Christ's ongoing presence in the church and the seven sacraments. Finally, key moments in the history of the church are examined culminating in the Second Vatican Council.
