Holy Trinity’s motto is How High School Should Be. What does that mean to you?
Holy Trinity really is how high school should be. There is something for everyone here: Performing Arts, Athletics, Fine Arts, academics, and countless clubs for everyone’s interests. It is a great school where everyone feels like a family.
What is your favorite class this year? Why do you enjoy it?
My favorite class this year is theatre. I enjoy it because I feel so lucky to have theatre in our curriculum. We have learned so much between contemporary plays, Shakespeare plays, and monologues. Mr. Sullivan helps us prepare for college auditions and he teaches us that theatre changes lives. He taught us that as actors, writers, and directors, we are given the opportunity to tell stories with important life lessons [and] to give people a place to escape to [for a while].
Has there been a faculty or staff member at Holy Trinity who has positively influenced you?
A teacher that has positively influenced me is Mr. Sullivan. He dedicates so much of his time and energy to help us become better actors, and to put on great shows. He inspired me to follow my dreams and taught me to never give up. He cares about all of his students and believes in their ability to do great work. He has a passion for theatre and for teaching. We are lucky to have a teacher as dedicated as he is.
What has been a “highlight” of your time at Holy Trinity? Please describe a moment that you enjoyed and/or made you proud:
A highlight of my time at Holy Trinity is when I was given the opportunity to play Ophelia in our production of Hamlet. I have been enjoying every moment of rehearsals and I enjoy working with such a talented cast and crew.
To what colleges are you applying? What is your intended major?
I am applying to Hofstra, Sacred Heart, LIU Post, Pace, Molloy, Scranton, University of Hartford, University of Delaware, and Marymount Manhattan. My intended major is Theatre.
What will you miss the most about Holy Trinity?
I am going to miss many things about Holy Trinity. I am going to miss coming to the theatre everyday and I am going to miss the feeling of family with the Rep class, Hamlet cast, and Select Choir. I met my best friends at Holy Trinity and I can’t imagine not seeing them everyday anymore. I am going to miss performing on the Holy Trinity stage and all of the great teachers we have here.
Do you have any advice for incoming Holy Trinity students?
Advice I have for incoming Holy Trinity students is to try out/audition for sports teams and shows as soon as you can. If you make the team or get into the show, that’s great! If not, don’t let it deter you from trying again. It is important to keep your head up, to work extremely hard, and to never give up.
