How would you describe your coaching philosophy? "'Firm but Fair.' A player's and coach's accountability for maximizing their role within a team is of high importance to me. Not only for team success and culture but for personal growth and development."
Is there a particular personal athletic experience that has helped shape your coaching philosophy? "The summer offseason leading up to my senior year in college was a distinct experience that helped shape my coaching philosophy. For me, it was my last attempt to achieve my goals and taught me a higher sense of accountability and work ethic that I hadn't yet achieved. It ended up being the most fun I had as a player while working the hardest I'd ever worked. I use that as my foundation of my coaching philosophy, guiding my players to achieve that same experience."
In your opinion, what is the advantage of being a Holy Trinity Titan athlete? "The advantage of being a Holy Trinity Titan is that you enter a situation that is geared towards success. Our athletic department is more dynamic than any other Catholic school in that we have a high percentage of coaches who have played and coached on the college level, as well as attended Holy Trinity. The advantage that a Holy Trinity athlete has is that they are given a high level of guidelines and coaching from people who have taken the same steps, achieved the same goals and have elevated to a higher level just as our athletes intend on achieving."
Best moment as a Holy Trinity Coach? "Our come-from-behind victory vs Moore Catholic in the playoffs of '18."
What is your advice to current middle school student-athletes as they prepare for High School Athletics?
"Firmly commit to the idea of being a STUDENT-ATHLETE. If your goals are to attend an academically and athletically competitive high school and/or college, you must understand that your path will be shaped and evaluated by the quality of your character, the quality of your academic work, and the type of athlete you are...IN THAT ORDER. So, commit for a short period of time, to achieve long-lasting dreams and goals."
