Carol Silva is a multi-Emmy Award winning television and radio news anchor, best known for her 33-years at News 12 Long Island. Among Carol’s 50-plus other awards, she is a member of the Emmy’s distinguished Silver Circle, inducted into the LI Journalism Hall of Fame, honored as a Hispanic in both Nassau and Suffolk and a NYS Woman of Distinction. Retired from her television career, Carol continues to work for TedX and as a motivational speaker.
Carol credits her Holy Trinity education with sharpening her communication skills and preparing her to research and report on a wide world of subjects. Her time on Student Council, Glee Club and the Titan Swim and Crew teams showed her how to work within a team, yet reach her personal best, and have fun!
Carol says perhaps most important, Holy Trinity reinforced that she could always ask God for help and should look for the good in all people. The Archdiocese of New York gave her their TRISCORT Award saying she, “spread optimism, faith and hope in her daily work as a journalist.”
