ABOUT
Holy Trinity's Roman Catholic faith is the heart of our Campus Ministry community. The Campus Ministry Team works together with the Religion Department, faculty and service clubs to foster and support our school's four-year comprehensive religious education program by providing students with opportunities to deepen their faith through the Eucharist, prayer, service, and retreats. Holy Trinity's Campus Ministry reaches out to the whole student body, faculty, and staff, striving to create a Christian community filled with active disciples of Jesus Christ.
MISSION
Campus Ministry is committed to providing opportunities for the Holy Trinity community to nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Students are invited to actively participate in the celebration of the liturgical and sacramental prayer life of the school, serve to the Church and community, and foster a personal belief in God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Holy Trinity Campus Ministry recognizes the responsibility to provide opportunities for students to live out this apostolic mission set firmly in the Roman Catholic tradition.
STAFF
The Campus Ministry staff at Holy Trinity is comprised of three part-time Chaplains assigned by the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre and two Campus Ministers. The Campus Ministry team works together to assist in the planning and execution of all religious celebrations including liturgies and Reconciliation services, prayer services, retreats, pilgrimages, and service activities/trips. The Chaplain is available at any time throughout the school day to administer sacraments and in conjunction with the Campus Ministers, provide pastoral guidance and care. The Campus Ministry team is available to all members of the Holy Trinity community and can be called on at any time, especially during occasions of grieving and bereavement. The Campus Ministry team works closely with school administration and faculty to ensure that our Roman Catholic identify permeates into the hallways and classrooms, and students grow in knowledge and understanding of who Jesus Christ is and how He works in their lives.
BIOS
Theresa is a youth ministry "lifer." Though she did not have the advantage of formal Catholic school education, she was blessed to grow up in a practicing Catholic family and joined her parish youth group during her freshman year of high school. There she began to appreciate the beauty of her faith through prayer and service, a discovery which compelled her to share this gift by becoming involved in the life of the Church in new ways. Directing university and parish music ministries since college, she continues to play and sing for holy hours, masses, parish missions and diocesan events throughout Long Island. With four years of youth ministry experience at the parish level (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Centereach) and five years at the campus level (OLMA, Syosset & HTDHS, Hicksville), Theresa has been blessed to lead mission trips, pilgrimages and retreats for hundreds of young people in different parts of the country and the world. Outside of her full-time youth and part-time music ministry positions, Theresa facilitates parish CCD retreats and sits on the Advisory Board for the Young Adult Ministry of the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
