How would you describe your coaching philosophy? I like to think of my playing style as creative, fast and attractive. It should be fun for the players and the fans.

Is there a particular personal athletic experience that has helped shape your coaching philosophy? The 1988 European Cup was the spark that started the fire I have for the beautiful game. Since then I’ve been studying the game and today I consider myself a lifelong student of the game.

My past playing experience has led to me into coaching. As a player, I ran too much in training and in games. The game has many interactions between two or more players against opposition which makes the game more of a thinking game than a running game and therefore, thinking speed is more important than running speed. In other words, making good decisions quickly is more important than being able to just run.

In your opinion, what is the advantage of being a Holy Trinity Titan athlete? I think of soccer players as artists – creative thinkers. The advantage of being a creative thinker at Holy Trinity is the excellent environment that exists here to

develop into artists.

What is your advice to current middle school student-athletes as they prepare for High School Athletics? Middle school students should improve their ability to analyze games, specifically from a positional perspective in relation to tactics.
